Volunteer Opportunity
Avon Little League Challenger Baseball
Avon Little League’s Challenger Baseball is an adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical
or intellectual challenges. The program provides young athletes with the opportunity to play and experience
organized Little League baseball.
Avon’s Challenger Little League program needs volunteers in order to make the program successful and
enjoyable for the athletes. The volunteers or “Buddies” will be paired with an athlete and will assist the athletes
while they participate in their game. A Buddy’s responsibility may include pushing a wheelchair, helping an
athlete swing a bat, field or throw a baseball, or guide an athlete around the bases. Most importantly, a Buddy
should be there to provide support and encouragement to the athlete. A Buddy should be at least 13 years old
and no previous baseball experience is required. The dates, times and locations of the games are listed here.
Volunteers will be needed for both games each weekend. A volunteer may register for one or both games.
Certificates of participation showing hours volunteered and/or sign off on volunteer hour verification forms
provided upon request.
